Description of Inflorescence and Flower : spicate terminal panicle, bearing bracteate heads of few spikelets, narrow, smooth, truncate, acuminate; rachis truncate,pubescent, joints 2.5 cm long. Spikelets 1-1.5 cm long, smooth, cylindric with 1-2 glumes, 2-3 fertile flowers, terminatingwith one imperfect flower; rachilla short, glabrous; glumes ovate, mucronate, many-nerved; lemma similar, but longer,1 cm long, rough above; palea narrow, acuminate, membranous, 12 mm long, 3-nerved on the back, ciliate on the keels.Lodicules 0 or 3, when present lanceolate, blunt, 3-5-nerved, shortly ciliate, one much longer than others. Stamensscarcely exserted; anther purple, 5-7 mm long, roughly apiculate; ovary stalked, hairy, style long, stigmas 3, hairy.
