Description of Inflorescence and Flower : panicleon leafy or separate leafless branches; bractsca. 2 cm long. Spikelets 5-7 in each raceme,glabrous, 2-flowered, one fertile and otherimperfect. Stamens 3, ca. 5 mm long antherbilobed shortly apiculate, basifixed,reddish brown filament, ca. 2 mm long.Ovary ca. 2 mm long, ovoid, glabrous, styleundivided, thick with 3 long plumosestigmas.

Uses: edible shoots, mats, fodder, ornamental plants
